Highlights
Without any question, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 has been one of the leading foldable smartphones in 2023. First of all, it has all the top-grade flagship features you may expect from a smartphone. For example, a 1812 x 2176 pixels Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen, IPX8 water resistance, some of the finest cameras and top-notch performance with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset presented by one of the industry leading Samsung One UI. So, it has all these and more which is a foldable smartphone with a tremendous capability.
Let’s start with the advantage of a dual display. The unfolded screen is 7.6-inch and the cover screen is 6.2 inches. This provides convenience and flexibility for foldable and unfolded Tablet-computer like usage. But then, you can also use the back camera for selfie shooting, as you can use the secondary screen as a mirror. It means your selfies will be the main camera quality. Imagine how much impact it brings. You can take selfies with all 5 cameras on the phone. Then there is the Multi-window feature when you use it unfolded. This allows you to use various apps simultaneously, a very dynamic feature for multitasking. The performance is so optimized that you’ll not feel any lag at all while operating three or more apps at the same time.
The Bluetooth integrated S Pen or Stylus is included. You can do sketch, handwriting, digital signature as well as use it like an iPhone 15 Pro model’s action button. There is Flex Mode for more convenient video calling or media consumption. Now comes our favorite Samsung DeX feature. Via this, you can connect it to a monitor and turn it to a full-on Android computer CPU. And boy, it’s a powerful one. You can also connect wireless keyboard and mouse, set this device unfolded in a stand and use it as a laptop. If you want to know the disadvantages, the battery isn’t that great (still okay compared to the previous generation). You may see a bit of spot in the middle area (crease) after folding and unfolding the phone for a while. It’s not a serious deal, but it’s going to be visible.
