Highlights

Honor X9b is the successor of the previous Honor X9a that caught an outrageous amount of attention because of its exceptionally tough body, curved screen and a unique spacy design. As an upgraded model, Honor X9b is toughened even further. Honor calls in an ultra bounce, anti-drop display. There is also a new orange color model with a vegan leather back. The design looks very similar to the X9a, but it is a bit more curved this time and the camera module on the back is thicker and gives a more robust expression. The screen has an AMOLED panel with a larger 6.78 size and a higher 1.5K 1220 x 2652 pixels resolution and 1200 nits peak brightness. A 1920 Hz PWM Dimming option is included to protect your eyes if you scroll around for a long time in low light ambient or at night.

The back camera section looks better with a 108 MP main lens. But we have seen photo samples from a few hands-on video reviewers and we have to say that this is not a camera centric device. The colors looked a bit washed out and the amount of details is also pretty low given its price. However, there is a 4K video recording option, a 5 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro lens. The selfie camera remains 16 MP with f/2.5 aperture and 1080p recording.

The performance section is where it gets better and satisfying. A 4 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset is used, which delivers 35% higher performance than the previous 6 nm Snapdragon 695 5G used in the X9a model. Here you are not supposed to face any lag or starters while playing common games such as PUBG, COD, FreeFire, Genshin Impact and so on. Even then, the Nanoreview gaming score of this chipset is 38 out of 100, which is not that high. You’ll definitely find some better performance phones from other brands for its price. But note that we are getting 12 GB actual RAM here as well as 8 GB virtual RAM. There is also a huge and 5800 mAh battery with DxOMark Gold level backup. This is capable of providing 3 days anti-aging backup as per Honor.

✔ Exceptionally strong build quality✘ No memory card slot
